I've been pondering lately how society shapes individuals. People often dress to please or gain recognition from society, striving for a style they admire. By turning it around and letting the visitors dress up the doll - metaphorically said; society dressing up the individual - I was curious on what would happen.
Every choice that people left behind had a personal mark. I’ve documented the interactions (5 days), resulting into a diverse and interesting outcome
Here are some excerpts of the interactive performance, love the different outcomes
Themes of gender, religion, styles, and breaking boundaries emerged. Some celebrated the naked female body, focused on boobs and attractiveness, while others conveyed personal beliefs. Religious women protectively covered the doll while on the flip side, others drew reversed crosses and devil symbols.
Young girls depicted period blood and body hair. And Children dressed the doll without any social constraints.
Many simply dressed the mannequin as they pleased, dressed her or messed her up, showcasing creative and unconventional looks while pushing boundaries.
